Exotic Mango is my favourite. As you walk into Anthropologie you are hit by a wave of this scent or something similarly exotic, rather than the overwhelming stench which is often pumped out in Gap or H&M. It makes for a much nicer shopping experience!
A little about me to start. I’m studying for a master’s in environmental science but my CV would suggest otherwise, as a homage to retail, from a sales assistant, to being a ‘brand specialist’ (?) to working in head office. However this is somewhere I want to merge these different interests, sort of by exploring a different perspective on fashion. Some refer it to eco-fashion, or ‘green’ ethical clothing, but often it isn’t understood what those terms actually mean. Reusing, recycling, packaging, make-do-and-mend…these are the types of things I’m interested in and I think more and more consumers are thinking beyond a product, and asking questions like ‘where does this come from?’ Also I use the term fashion loosely; I don’t think of myself as particularly fashionable, more that I’m inspired by trends, whether that be in my Mum’s interiors magazines littering the house, or walking round an exhibition in London, or just by doing the rounds of the high street, although I probably enjoy a good rummage around the local car boot more. Don’t expect high-and-mighty environmentally conscience comments though, this is more likely to be my general chitter chatter of things I like to buy and places I like to go. Also, I’m supposed to be spending all summer researching my thesis in a library, which is majorly lacking in windows, so this is almost my guilty pleasure… and expect lots of bullet points rather than joined up sentences.
